AIR FRYER LIVER AND ONIONS

This recipe for liver and onions cooked in an air fryer is a sophisticated and delicious dish. The meat is crisp and tender to perfection.

It complements the sweetness of the sautéed onions well. If you have never cooked liver before, this is the ideal dish to attempt. It is quite simple to prepare in less than 20 minutes for a healthy lunch or dinner.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound of beef liver
  • 1 pound of beef liver
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Half an onion, diced
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

DIRECTIONS:

  • Rinse the liver of the beef with cool water. Cut into roughly 1-inch pieces.
  • Add sliced onions to the air fryer. Season the liver with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Olive oil was sprayed. Gently combine.
  • 12 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Garnish with minced cilantro or green onions.

NOTE:

  • It will reduce the amount of time spent cleaning up after preparing food. It will also prevent onions from dropping to the air fryer’s bottom.
  • Do not overcook food. It is essential not to overcook beef liver, since it will become tough, chewy, and scorched otherwise.
  • Use an instant meat thermometer if you are unsure if the liver is done. Insert the liver segment. The thermometer should read at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit when the liver is fully cooked.
  • There is no need to milk-soak liver. It may remove the taste of iron, however. Up to you!
  • Thoroughly wash the liver before cooking.

HOW TO AIR FRY BEEF LIVER

Purchase a liver of excellent quality. I mentioned where to purchase it later in the post. Rinse the beef livers under cold running water, then cut them into approximately 2-inch pieces.

Add thinly-sliced onions to the air fryer. Add liver pieces and a small amount of oil to the dish. I used olive oil spray, but regular oil will suffice. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then give the mixture a moderate swirl.

Cook beef liver for 12 minutes in an air fryer. The dish is ready to be served as is over rice or mashed potatoes when topped with chopped cilantro.

WHY EAT BEEF LIVERS

Due to its rich, robust flavors and odd texture, many individuals either adore or abhor the liver. However, the liver is an exceptionally nutrient-dense meat, containing several vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A and B, copper, and iron.

Incorporating organ meats into your diet is a terrific ‘nose-to-tail’ eating style that is prevalent in many cultures and allows us to benefit from the entire animal.

Organ meats are also incredibly cost-effective because they are affordable compared to other cuts of meat and widely available. For optimal nutritional value, get livers of good quality. Consult the refrigeration department of your local supermarket or your butcher.

WHAT IS THE AIR FRYER?

There are numerous methods for preparing beef liver, with air-frying being the most popular. It could also be pan-fried or baked. Due to the use of the air fryer, this is a simple, mess-free meal that can be prepared in less than twenty minutes.

Air-frying is also advantageous since it produces a deep-fried texture without using unnecessary oil. This recipe calls for a small amount of cooking oil spray to prevent the meat from adhering to the air fryer basket.

DO YOU RECOMMEND BEEF LIVER AND ONIONS?

Yes, the liver contains numerous vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, vitamin A, copper, zinc, folate, and iron. It is known that organ meats have more nutrients per serving than grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pig, or eggs.

The sautéed onions are likewise rich in nutrients, and their sweetness helps to mask the metallic flavor of the liver, making them the ideal accompaniment.

Even though the liver is extremely healthy, it is only recommended that it be consumed once a week.

MAY I AIR FRY A LIVER?

Absolutely! The air fryer can simply prepare beef liver. This is a quick and clean method of cooking this nutritious meat. The liver can be cooked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the meat, as it will turn tough and chewy if it is overcooked.

Check the liver after a few minutes, as each air fryer cooks at a different rate.
